8 November 2005
The magic pill Viagra meant for the treatment
of erectile dysfunction (ED) is capable of relieving the symptoms
and improves the circulation of patients suffering from Raynaud's
phenomenon that does no response to conventional therapy.
Raynaud's phenomenon is characterized by spasms in the small blood
vessels of the hands and feet in response to cold or stress, resulting
in poor circulation and pain. The ailment can also lead to ulceration
or tissue death in the toes and fingers.
Viagra which is primarily
developed to treat male erectile dysfunction, is a phosphodiesterase
(PDE)-5 inhibitor that affects very small blood vessels. Studies
