Viagra Saves Life Of Baby
February 19, 2007
Viagra was used by doctors to save the life of a premature baby successfully.
The baby’s name is Lewis Goodfellow and was born at 24 weeks weighing just 1lb 8oz.
Doctors tried many drugs including Sildenafil, which is a trade name of Viagra which helped save the baby’s life.
He has a lung failure and was not getting enough oxygen to the bloodstream. The drug Viagra opened up tiny blood vessels in the baby’s lungs and saved his life.
Ms Goodfellow talked about the doctors stating that the “Doctors said he couldn’t be given any more oxygen.
“They were just clutching at straws basically. They explained it was experimental and may not have any effect at all.”
His mother stated that “I don’t think you could put into words how we feel.
“The doctors are worth their weight in gold. We admire each and every one of them for what they have done.”
Lewis returned home in January but was born in August 2006. He was kept in the hospital during that time and is now doing very well.
